- Description: Native to the tropical regions of Asia and east Africa, Asplenium Nidus has large, light green, often crinkled leaves. This tropical plant prefers "rainforest" conditions in partial shade or indirect sunlight, and high humidity. With the proper environment and attentive care, leaves can grow up to 5 ft long.
- Use natural insecticidal soaps instead of chemical pesticides to avoid damaging the plant.
- Grow the plant in filtered sunlight to a moderate amount of shade. Avoid exposing it to direct sunlight other than the very early morning sun, which can burn the leaves.
- Place the plant indoors in an east- or north-facing window.
- Prune the plant by removing any dead fronds or leaves that have died to help it create new leaves and remain healthy.
- Repot the plant only when necessary, as the roots of a bird’s nest fern don’t require much space.
